![]() Does this mean the game is less big free than Stellaris or CKII? Follow-up. How is it for solo play? This is very tempting if I can play it alone while ignoring my friends and family, lol. So on solo play we on Linux used to have the upperhand for a long time. But on the bright side on windows EU4 took 5 minutes to load while we were on the map in 5 seconds (and the game has to restart whenever a save is loaded, so it was not just a once per game issue). But here? EUIV was broken, yet HoI4 and Stellaris were patched for that very bug at most a year after it first appeared. They do try to support Linux well, and overall it is good. Paradox support was "meh" to put it mildly here. For at least 4 years (from the top of my head, I could dig into my message over the Paradox forums and all to be more accurate), EUIV was broken for any cross-play multi for Linux users (they'd desync less than a minute into the game, as the underlaying clock system was broken for that much time) Tho, I'd like to kind of modulate your words here, Liam: QuoteParadox has a good history of Linux support too, with this being available as a native Linux port. EUIV is fine, but the bundle is needed to get into it now. Quoting: MisterPaytwick13'3 may be kind of small still. Not _that_ much difference and you can get used to everything. VMware Fusion has good support for macOS as VM, but the GUI itself is often clunky and sometimes outright ugly (progress bars, menu bar dialogs, small stuff like that).Īt the end of the day all run their VMs fine and fast and stable. VirtualBox is less comfortable to work with when you want to emulate macOS, but has superior support for any sort of Linux machine. In my experience VirtualBox and VMware Fusion on a Mac are about as good as the other. I've also tested VirtualBox (which has been my go-to product on Windows) in the time between the Parallels Desktop subscription ended and VMware Fusion 12 became free-as-in-beer. And - because I am a penny pincher with Scottish roots - I'll stick with it, though I miss Parallels Desktop. If you are looking to use a virtual machine as a casual user, and you don’t mind the cost, Parallels Desktop is the best option. It is faster, better, and works better with Mac OS and iPhones. Select the Configure button on the top bar for Parallels and the Virtual Machine menu then Settings for VMWare Fusion. It looks like VMware does not yet support full 3D acceleration on ARM, so I'm guessing that most games will NOT work on it. Apple Silicon models are limited to OpenGL 4.3. Better integrated, less resource intensive and just "slicker" to use.īut it costs money, and I am a cheapskate, so when my subscription ran out and VMware Fusion offered the most modern version for free, I opted to test it. While VMware Fusion is more suited for technical users and comes at a cheaper price, Parallels Desktop is the better of the two. From the link: Intel machines can support running DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.3, as well as running eGPUs. To answer your question upfront: Parallels Desktop is waaaaay smoother on the Mac. Ive used VirtualBox for Ubuntu at one time, which was simple and free, but unfortunately I couldnt even get it to run the ARM version of Windows 11. I've switched from 10 years of using Parallels Desktop to VMware Fusion 12 about 2 months ago. If you like an ocarina that is not easily breakable by dropping it, a replica from the Legend of Zelda, and/or if you like less holes on your ocarina, I would recommend this ocarina, but I personally prefer ceramic to plastic. And Songbird also slipped in a 20% off coupon. I was a bit disappointed when I first saw it, but after playing it for a while, I got used to it. All my cards on the table, I have never bought a plastic ocarina before. Seriously, I opened the box and thought it was a joke for a second there. I did not expect this ocarina to be plastic. It comes with a tutorial booklet with the fingering chart and 7 tabs (how convenient): Zelda's Lullaby, Saria's Song, Kokiri Forest, Epona's Song, Song of Storms, The Market Song, and Song of Time. It has a really good sound to it, and it is a reasonable size. Honestly, considering my past four years of experience, I am not too impressed.but don't get me wrong it still is a very good instrument. This is my first ocarina from them, so I won't put in too much hate. This includes the Songbird OoT, which I've played for myself and deemed much less playable than the majority of the TNG's I've played. So, I know I'm a liiiiittle late to this party.but I just recently bought the Kokiri Edition 7 hole ocarina from Songbird. Well personally, I'm not interested in buying Ocarina of Time replicas since I'm mostly concerned with how an ocarina sounds and plays, and all of the ones available are overpriced for the quality and unplayable compared to similarly priced ocarinas. a Zelda replica, or a good instrument for the price you pay?Įdit: The main melody of Saria's song can be played in full on a 12-hole ocarina, but you cannot play along some portions of the backing harmony that require one note higher than the range of a standard 12-hole in C.Īlso, I thought I'd add that after trying Songbird's newest OoT, I'd actually consider going with STL's Zelda model instead since it seems more playable to me. Consider what it is you want in an ocarina. ![]() Are you only interested in playing Zelda music? A 12-hole ocarina in the key of C will allow you to play the majority of the songs, but as a rule of thumb in the ocarina community, Zelda replica ocarinas are hardly ever as high in quality as similar ocarinas sold at the same price.
